Steve has been professionally gigging since High School. He has played at the Congress Theater in Chicago, Illinois with his high school band The Brightsides, and at a number of bars and private venues in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area of Alabama. He has played in rock, funk, ska/reggae, blues, bluegrass, country/folk, jazz, and classical groups and has played alongside a number of Tuscaloosa/Birmingham musicians including Matt Jones, Carlos Pino, Matt Wiley, Debbie Bond, Steve Ramos, Rob Alley, Daniel Western, Dan Kolan, Kris Bitten, Jon Harms, Nick Boyd, Tom Wolfe and Jon Noffsinger. He has also played in a number of musicals for Theatre Tuscaloosa, ACTS Charitable Theatre, SummerTide Theatre, and UA Theatre; and for University of Alabama's jazz bands and orchestra. Steve graduated from UA with a Music Performance degree in 2017. He can perform solo, or put together an ensemble of any size to play any genre of music. If given enough time, he also takes requests. Steve has been teaching bass and piano since high school, and has since expanded to guitar and drum lessons. He has been playing piano and reading music since the age of 5, and has been playing electric bass since the age of 10 and upright bass since 2014. Steve also plays guitar and drums at an amateur level, and can teach beginner students at those instruments.

Steve can teach any style of music from classical to jazz/blues to pop/rock and will tailor his lessons to his students needs/desires. References are available upon request.
Steve studied jazz combo and big band arranging at the University of Alabama with Chris Kozak and Tom Wolfe, and composition and 18th century counterpoint with Amir Zaheri. Steve's first album, the Adventures of Happy Weather (which you can download or stream at the music page) consists of 7 of his original tunes, and his own arrangement of "Smile". He also arranged a big band chart for the UA Jazz Ensemble in his senior year (recording available upon request). Steve is proficient in composing and arranging all types of music, from big band to pop music to classical, and pdf samples of his arrangements/compositions are available upon request.
